The Construction Department of the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is dedicated to working seamlessly and transparently with government agencies, as well as stakeholders and contractors to deliver high quality infrastructure improvements for the advancement of Cuyahoga County.

  • Provide first rate construction management services to the residents of Cuyahoga County
  • To quickly and efficiently resolve construction related issues and concerns as they develop on our projects as they relate to residents, stakeholders, funding partners and businesses
  • Manage active construction projects with efficient use of our resources and staff to meet all necessary coordination, documentation, and testing requirements
  • Construct projects in a manner that is accommodating to the surrounding environment
  • To make safety a number one priority for our employees, contractors, residents and motorists alike

Duties of the Construction Division include the following:

  • Document all aspects, daily events, and conditions on projects under our authority to ensure all contract plans and specifications are adhered to and that the quality of work meets or exceeds specifications
  • Coordinate daily activities of the project’s contractors and to ensure the work is progressed in a safe and expedient manner
  • To practically and efficiently manage unforeseen or safety related issues that may develop on construction projects under our authority
  • Coordinate the contract sale, execution, and finalization of all road, bridge, and sanitary projects managed by the department of public works
  • Serve as the Department of Public works contact/liaison for issues and inquiries related to the construction projects under our jurisdiction
  • To coordinate the relocation of all public and private utilities made necessary as a result of our construction related activities
