Duties & Activities Each month's utility bill is reviewed for
discrepancies in usage and/or cost. Energy Management compares monthly and
year-to-date values to established budget and contract caps. Energy Management
works closely with three contractors to review the performance of various
measures at nineteen County facilities. All the facilities are showing savings
when comparing this year's performance to a baseline year. The baseline year is
the calculated usage for the period based upon historic utility bill patterns.
The Board of Elections Building, the Virgil Brown Building, the Central Services
Building, the Superior Auto Title Bureau, the Juvenile Court Complex, the
Whitlatch Building, the Metzenbaum, Justice Center, Administration Building,
Children Center and the Jane Edna Hunter Building are among the facilities
retrofitted for energy conservation.
Energy Management reports to upper
management on savings and energy related problems and recommends solutions.
Energy Management researches the impacts on the County various environmental
ruling laws.
We maintain public relations on energy related matters. We
evaluate energy proposals submitted to the County for implementation we provide
energy education to County tenants and employees. We approve utility bills
payments.
Energy Management does not participate in contract negotiations
for the purchase of new facilities.
