Current/Anticipated Operations:

  • American Bridge continues the installation, balancing & testing of the new lift span to the existing north & south towers. American Bridge is completing the installation of the live load supports and air buffers for the new lift span. American Bridge is also in the process of installing the new tower houses atop the north and south towers. American Bridge is also in the process of installing the new tower houses atop the north and south towers. Construction has begun to dismantle-and de-mobilize the barge used to float the new lift span from the lay-down yard to the towers, as well as any other materials and equipment no longer needed on this project. The bridge is operational; however, the bridge remains closed to vehicular traffic.
  • American Bridge electrical subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing, testing and operating the new electrical and security systems on the new lift span as well as on the north and south towers.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues the touch-up of the coating system on the north & south towers, as well as on the new lift span at the Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge site.
  • OCP Contractors completed constructing enclosures around and over the operating drums located in the new machinery room on the new lift span of the bridge.
  • American Bridge subcontractor asphalt paving subcontractor Cook Paving Company has completed the asphalt paving operation of the north and south approaches to the Columbus Road Lift Bridge.
October 7, 2014Current/Anticipated Operations:
American Bridge continues the installation, balancing & testing of the new lift span to the existing north & south towers.   • American Bridge continues the installation, balancing & testing of the new lift span to the existing north & south towers.  The bridge is operational, however, additional work & testing remains to be performed on the bridge.  The bridge remains closed to vehicular traffic.
  • American Bridge electrical subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing, testing & operating the new electrical systems on the new lift span as well as on the north & south towers.  ESI is in the process of making the electrical connections between the towers & the new lift span as part of the “float-in/hook-up operations”.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues the touch-up operation on the north & south towers, as well as on the new lift span at the Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge site.
  • American Bridge subcontractor OCP Contractors constructing enclosures around & over the operating drums located in the new machinery room on the new lift span of the bridge.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Terrace Construction completed installation of new water service that will supply water to the new restroom constructed in the south tender house located on the south pier of the bridge.

PROGRESS:

  • American Bridge performed the “float-in” operation of the new lift span. American Bridge transferred the new lift span from the point of construction/steel erection at the American Bridge lay-down yard onto the float-in/bridge barge positioned on the Cuyahoga River. American Bridge then transported or floated the new lift span down river to the Columbus Road Lift Bridge site and positioned the new lift span in place between the north and south towers. American Bridge then performed the “hook-up” portion of the “float-in” procedure” which involved the actual “hook-up” or re-attachment of the new lift span to the existing north and south towers. American Bridge then began the process of testing and balancing the new lift span. Contractor raised the new lift span to the top of the towers and removed the “float-in” barge that carried the new lift span, re-opening the river to boat traffic by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014. Additional work and testing remains to be performed on the bridge.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction is in the process of completing all of the civil-related work on the north approach to the bridge. Great Lakes Construction also completed placement of the class S lightweight concrete in the open grid decking of the south tower span and south tower approach span. Great Lakes Construction is also making preparations for the placement of the class S lightweight concrete in the south tower span & south tower approach span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing, testing and operating the new electrical systems on the new lift span as well as on the north and south towers. ESI is in the process of making the electrical connections between the towers and the new lift span as part of the “float-in/hook-up operations”.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues the touch-up operation on the north & south towers, as well as on the new lift span at the Columbus Road Lift Bridge site.
  • American Bridge concrete sealing subcontractor Velotta Company on site sealing all of the exposed concrete surfaces of the south abutment, south pier and north abutment.

The bridge is closed to all traffic.

Due to the “float-in” operation, scheduled for July 28, 2014, the anticipated completion date has been changed to October 2014.

July 1, 2014

  • American Bridge continues working on both the north & south towers concurrently continuing the process of rehabilitating the existing towers. American Bridge completed installing the new steel open grid decking, the pedestrian railing & the tubular steel railing on the south tower span & south approach span. American Bridge has installed the new north & south tower counterweight ropes over the counterweight sheaves on the north & south towers. American Bridge has also installed portions of the operating rope system on the north & south towers. American Bridge is also installing the north & south auxiliary counterweight systems on the north & south towers respectively. American Bridge continues the process of prepping the new lift span constructed at the American Bridge lay-down yard for the proposed “float-in” operation.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction is in the process of completing all of the civil-related work on the north approach to the bridge. Great Lakes Construction also completed placement of the Class S Lightweight Concrete in the north tower span. Great Lakes Construction is also making preparations for the placement of the Class S Lightweight Concrete in the south tower span & south tower approach span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical systems in the new machinery room and operator’s house (control room) located on the new lift span as well as on the north & south towers. ESI has hung the new droop cables in the cable guards installed on both the north & south towers. ESI has begun to pull wire through the previously installed conduit on the north & south towers to connect to the new droop cables. ESI also completed the installation of the barrier gate, warning gates, traffic signals & street lights on the north side of the bridge site.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues the touch-up operation on the north & south towers at the bridge site, as well as on the new lift span constructed at the American Bridge lay-down yard. Contractor is currently touching up the previously painted structural steel of both the existing north & south towers.
  • The bridge is closed to all traffic.
June 2, 2014

• American Bridge is working on both the north and south towers concurrently continuing the process of rehabilitating the existing towers. American Bridge completed installing the specified structural steel members for the north tower span, south tower span and south tower approach span. American Bridge has also completed installing the new steel open grid decking for the south tower span and south approach span, making preparations to place the lightweight concrete in both the north and south tower spans and south approach span. American Bridge continues to install tower stairs and tower platforms on both the north and south towers. American Bridge has installed the new north and south tower counterweight sheaves on the tops of the respective towers in preparation for the proposed “float-in” operation. American Bridge is in the process of installing the new tower counterweight sheaves on top of the north tower. American Bridge is also installing the north and south auxiliary counterweight systems on the north and south towers respectively. American Bridge continues the process of prepping the new lift span constructed at the American Bridge lay-down yard for the proposed “float-in operation.

• American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction is in the process of completing all of the civil related work on the north approach to the bridge. Great Lakes Construction is also making preparations for the placement of the class S lightweight concrete in the north tower span, south tower span and south tower approach span.

• American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house (control room) located on the new lift span as well as the north and south towers. ESI has installed all of the platform lighting on both the north and south towers. ESI also completed the installation of the barrier gate, warning gates, traffic signals and street lights on the south side of the bridge site. ESI also operated and tested all the systems installed on the new lift span including the motors required to raise and lower the new lift span once the new lift span is re-installed on the north and south towers.

• American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues the touch-up operation on the north and south towers at the bridge site, as well as the new lift span constructed at the American Bridge lay down yard. Contractor is currently touching up the previously painted structural steel of the existing north tower.

• American Bridge plumbing subcontractor John F. Gallagher Company is completing the installation of the plumbing system to the new restroom constructed in the south tender house at the south tower.

• American Bridge subcontractor Lake Erie Construction Company has completed the installation of the four type TST Bridge Terminal Assemblies on the four corners of the existing bridge. Two assemblies on the north approach to the bridge and two assemblies on the south approach to the bridge.

Current/Anticipated Operations:


  • American Bridge is working on both the north and south towers concurrently continuing to replace specified structural steel members on each tower in the process of rehabilitating the existing towers. American Bridge is installing the specified structural steel members for the south tower span and south tower approach span. American Bridge has installed the new steel open grid decking for the north tower span. American Bridge continues to install tower stairs and tower platforms on both the north and south towers. American Bridge has raised the north and south tower counterweights to the tops of the respective towers in preparation for the proposed “float-in” operation. American Bridge is in the process of installing the new tower counterweight sheaves on top of the north tower. American Bridge is also in the process of prepping the new lift span construction at the American Bridge lay-down yard for the proposed “float-in operation.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction is in the process of reconstructing the north abutment and north approach slab.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house (control room) located on the new lift span as well as the north and south towers
  • American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers has prepped the new north and south tower counterweigh sheaves for installation on the tops of the north and south towers at the bridge site. This prep work was performed at the American Bridge lay-down yard where the counterweight sheaves are being stored. Norris Brothers is currently working with American Bridge personnel with the installation of the new north tower counterweight sheaves.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation returned to the project and resumed the touch-up operation on the north and south towers at the bridge site, as well as the new lift span constructed at the American Bridge lay down yard. Contractor has begun touching up the previously painted structural steel of the existing north tower.
  • American Bridge pluming subcontractor John F. Gallagher Company is installing the new fuel lines for the new auxiliary generator located in the lower level room in the south pier.
  •  The bridge is closed to all traffic.

 
April 1, 2014

Current/Anticipated Operations:

• American Bridge is working on both the north and south towers concurrently removing and replacing specified structural steel members on each tower in the process of rehabilitating the existing towers. American Bridge has successfully plumbed both the north and south towers. American Bridge continues to install tower stairs and tower platforms on both the north & south towers. American Bridge is in the process of raising the north and south tower counterweights to the tops of the respective towers in preparation for the proposed “float-in” operation. American Bridge is also in the process of removing the false-work from beneath the new lift span construction at the American Bridge lay-down yard in preparation for the proposed “float-in” operations.

• American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction has completed reconstructing the column pedestals on the north and south piers beneath each column of the north and south towers following the tower jacking operation of the north and south towers. Great Lakes Construction is preparing to complete reconstruction work on the north abutment and north approach slab.

• American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house (control room) located on the new lift span as well as the north and south towers

• American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers is installing the auxiliary counterweight system components on both the north and south towers at the bridge site.

• American Bridge roofing subcontractor Warren Roofing is installing the new roofing system on the new tower houses being constructed at the American Bridge lay-down yard.

• American Bridge HVAC subcontractor R & D Heating and Sheet Metal Company is installing the exhaust/ventilation system for the auxiliary generator located in the lower level room of the south pier at the bridge site.

• The bridge is closed to all traffic.

March 11, 2014

Current/Anticipated Operations:

• American Bridge is working on both the north and south towers concurrently in the process of jacking and plumbing each tower as well as removing and replacing specified structural steel members on each tower.

• American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction is currently reconstructing the column pedestals on the north and south piers beneath each column of the north and south towers following the tower jacking operation of the north and south towers.

• American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier as well as the north and south towers.

• American Bridge subcontractor OCP Contractors has completed framing the walls and installing the sheeting for the walls on the new north and south tower houses currently being constructed in the American Bridge lay-down yard.

• American Bridge subcontractor E.R. Flynn installing the new windows and doors in the new north and south tower house being constructed at the American Bridge lay-down yard.

• The bridge is closed to all traffic.


February 3, 2014

• American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier as well as the north and south towers.

January 16, 2014

Current/Anticipated Operations:

  • American Bridge installed the temporary counterweight cribbing and support system for the existing south tower counterweight on the top the south pier. American Bridge also installed counterweight jacking equipment on the south tower to lower the existing south tower counterweight. American bridge then lowered the existing south tower counterweight from the top of the south tower to the temporary counterweight cribbing below. American Bridge making preparations to jack and plumb the south tower. At this time American Bridge is working on both the north and south towers concurrently in the process of jacking and plumbing each tower as well as removing and replacing specified structural steel members on each tower.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction continues to perform the civil related work on the south and north sides of the existing Columbus Road Lift Bridge. This civil-related work includes the rehab work on the north abutment as well as the construction of the new north approach slab, new pavement and new concrete sidewalk as well as the installation of the new barrier gate, warning gate, new street lights and traffic signal foundations which are currently in progress. Great Lakes Construction also constructed the new north and south fender systems in the Cuyahoga River immediately adjacent to the north and south towers. Great Lakes Construction is currently
    reconstructing the column pedestals on the north and south piers beneath each column of the north and south towers following jacking operation of the north and.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation completed the touch up work of the paint on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard. Avalotis completed the application of the prime, intermediate and finish coats of paint on the north and south towers. Avalotis will return in the spring to perform touch up work on the entire structure following the “float-in” of the new lift span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier as well as the north and
    south towers.
  • American Bridge subcontractor OCP Contractors is framing and sheeting the walls on the new north and south tower houses currently being constructed in the American Bridge lay-down yard.
  • American Bridge subcontractor E.R. Flynn installing the new windows in the new machinery room and operator house on the new lift span in the American Bridge lay-down yard.

Current/Anticipated Operations:

  • American Bridge continued constructing the new North & South Tower Houses at the American lay-down yard. American Bridge is also installing the exterior panels on the walls of the new machinery room of the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction continues to perform the civil-related work on the south and north sides of the existing Columbus Road Lift Bridge. This work includes the rehab work on the south abutment as well as the construction of the construction of new south approach slab, new pavement and new concrete sidewalk as well as the installation of the new barrier gate and warning gates, new street lights and traffic signals. This work also includes the rehab work on the north abutment as well as the construction of new north approach slab, new pavement and new concrete sidewalk as well as the installation of the new barrier gate and warning gates, new street lights and traffic signals. Great Lakes Construction is also in the process of installing the new north and south fender systems located in the Cuyahoga River in front of the north and south towers respectively.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues to perform the touch up work of the paint on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard. Avalotis is also performing the abrasive blasting of the existing steel of the north and south towers of the bridge and the subsequent application of the prime, intermediate and finish coats of paint. The abrasive blasting has been completed and the prime, intermediate and finish coats have been applied to the north tower. Avalotis is in the process of removing the containment system that enclosed the north tower and performing touch up work to the north tower as the containment system is removed. Avalotis has completed the abrasive blasting of south tower and the prime coat has been applied.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier as well as the north and south towers.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers continued installing the new lift span machinery in the new machinery room, located on the new lift span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor John F. Gallagher Plumbing continued installing the new plumbing system in the new machinery room and operator’s house of the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard as well as the new water supply and sanitary sewer lines that will service the south tender house restroom located at the south tower of the lift bridge and the installation of the exhaust and fuel systems for the new auxiliary generator in the lower level of the south pier.

  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues to perform the touch up work of the paint on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard. Avalotis is also performing the preparation work and the subsequent painting of the existing north and south towers of the bridge.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the            new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers continued installing the new lift span machinery in the new machinery room, located on the new lift span.  
  • American Bridge subcontractor OCP Contractors continues to perform the architectural carpentry and finish related work on and in the new machinery room and operator’s house on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard. This work includes the installation of           the insulation board and exterior plywood to enclose the machinery room and operator’s house as well as the installation of the new windows, doors and interiors of the aforementioned structures.
  • American Bridge contractor R & D Heating and Sheet Metal is installing the    HVAC system in the new auxiliary generator room in the lower level of the       South Pier.  
  • American Bridge subcontractor John F. Gallagher Plumbing continued installing the new plumbing system in the new machinery room and operator’s house of the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard as well as the new water supply and sanitary sewer lines that will service the south tender house restroom located at the south tower of the lift bridge.  
  • The bridge is closed to all traffic.

 


September 4, 2013


Current/Anticipated Operations:
 

  • The Prime Contractor, American Bridge completed cutting apart and dismantling the old lift span at the Lafarge Stone Dock off West 3rd Street.
  • American Bridge crews also completed the demolition work on portions of  the existing north and south towers of the Columbus Rd. Bridge designated    for removal as part of the rehabilitation of the existing towers.

 

  • American Bridge continues erecting the structural steel items on the new lift span at the American lay-down yard. American Bridge is installing the pedestrian railing and twin tubular steel guard railing on the bridge deck of the new lift span. American Bridge also assisting and monitoring its subcontractors at both the bridge site and lay-down yard site.

 

  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction performing the civil-related work on the south and north sides of the existing Columbus Road Lift Bridge. This work includes the removal of the existing sidewalk, curb and pavement on the north side, as well as the rehab work on the south abutment which includes the construction of new south approach slab, new pavement and new concrete sidewalk as well as the installation of the new barrier gate and warning gate foundations.

 

  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues to perform the touch up work of the paint on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard. Avalotis is also performing the preparation work for the painting of the existing north and south towers of the bridge. Avalotis completed the installation of the new containment system on the existing    north tower of the bridge and then began the solvent cleaning operation on the existing north tower steel. Avalotis also began the installation of the containment system on the existing south tower.

 

  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors continues installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and     operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier.

 

  • American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers continued installing the new lift span machinery in the new machinery house located on the new lift span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor OCP Contractors continues to construct the             walls of the new machinery room and operator’s house on the new lift span          at the American Bridge lay-down yard. This work included the installation of             the insulation board and exterior plywood to enclose the machinery room        and operator’s house.
  • American Bridge contractor R & D Heating and Sheet Metal is installing the             HVAC system in the new auxiliary generator room in the lower level of the             south pier.
  • American Bridge subcontractor John F. Gallagher Plumbing continued     installing the      new plumbing system in the new machinery room and           operator’s house of the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard.

Current/Anticipated Operations:

  • The Prime contractor, American Bridge continues cutting apart and dismantling the old lift span up river from Columbus Road site, alongside the Lafarge Stone Dock off West 3rd Street.
  • American Bridge crews performing the demolition work on portions of the existing North and South Towers of the Columbus Road Bridge designated for removal as part of the rehabilitation of the existing towers.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Great Lakes Construction performing the civil-related work on the south side of the existing Columbus Road Lift Bridge. This work includes the removal of the existing pavement, drainage work, rehab work on the south abutment, as well as the construction of new south approach slab, new pavement and new concrete sidewalk.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers is installing the new lift span machinery in the new machinery house located on the new lift span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues to perform the touch up work of the paint on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Norris Brothers is installing the new lift span machinery in the new machinery room located on the new lift span.
  • American Bridge subcontractor ESI Electrical Contractors is installing the new electrical system in the new machinery room and operator’s house located on the new lift span and installing and wiring the new auxiliary generator in the lower level room of the south pier.
  • American Bridge subcontractor OCP Contractors continues to frame out and construct the walls of the new machinery room and operator’s house on the new lift span and the American Bridge lay-down yard. OCP also is installing the new metal door frames and doors in the lower level auxiliary generator room in the south pier of the bridge.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Warren Roofing is installing the roof on the new machinery room on the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard.

  • The existing lift span of the Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge was removed from the bridge and floated up river for demolition on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
  • The Prime Contractor, American Bridge is in the process of cutting apart and dismantling the old lift span up river from the Columbus   Rd. Bridge site. Alongside the Lafarge Stone Dock off of West 3rd   Street.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Concrete Restoration Specialists continues to perform the concrete patching operations on the South Pier, South abutment and North Pier of the existing Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation continues to perform the touch up work of the paint on the new lift   span at the American Bridge Lay-down yard.

  • The Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge was officially closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 7:00 a.m.
  • The Prime Contractor, American Bridge continues to erect the Level UF, Level 3, Level 6 Structural Steel members for the new lift span of the Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge off site at the American Bridge lay down yard. This work includes the installation of the structural steel members for the new Operator’s House and Machinery House which is located on the upper chord of the new lift span.
  • American Bridge brews have begun to perform demolition work on portions of the North and South towers of the Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge designated for removal.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Concrete Restoration Specialists continues to perform the concrete patching operations on the South Pier, South abutment and North Pier of the existing Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge.
  • American Bridge painting subcontractor Avalotis Corporation has begun touch up wok of the paint on the lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard.

May 6, 2013

Current/Anticipated Operations:

  • American Bridge Company continues to erect the Level UF, Level 3, Level 6 structural steel members for the new lift span off site at the American Bridge lay-down yard.
  • This work included the installation of the new steel grid roadway decking that will carry vehicular traffic over the bridge, as well as the installation of the structural steel members for the new operator’s house and machinery house which is located on the upper chord of the new lift span.
  • American Bridge crews also completed assembling the Shugart Crane Barge that will carry the Manitowoc 4100 Crawler Crane that will be used in the actual rehabilitation work of the existing north and south towers of the Columbus Road Lift Bridge.
  • Crew is also assembling the barge that will be used for the “float-out” operation of the existing lift span.
  • The existing lift span will be lowered onto the barge and “floated” up river to a location where the existing lift span will be demolished.
  • American Bridge subcontractor Concrete Restoration Specialist continues to perform the concrete patching operations on the south pier, south abutment and north pier of the existing Columbus Rd. Lift Bridge.
  • The bridge remains open and operational at this time.








April 2, 2013

  • American Bridge Company continues to take delivery of Level UF, Level 3, Level 6 and other pertinent structural steel members for the construction of the new lift span off site at the American Bridge lay-down yard.
  • Continuing to erect the Level UF, Level 3, Level 6 and other pertinent structural steel members for the lower and upper chords of the new lift span at the American Bridge lay-down yard.
  • Subcontractor Concrete Restoration Specialist returned to the bridge site to resume concrete patching operations on the South Pier, South Abutment and North Pier.
  • The Columbus Rd. Bridge remains open and operational at this time following a three week closure due to electrical problems.




March 4, 2013

  • American Bridge Continues to take delivery of Level UF, Level 3, Level 6 &

    other pertinent Structural Steel members for the construction of the new lift span off site at the American Bridge lay‐down yard.
  • Contractor also continues to erect the level UF, Level 3, Level 6 & other

Current/Anticipated Operations:


  • Construction of false work to erect and construct the new lift span for the bridge at the American Bridge lay‐down yard located off site.
  • American Bridge is scheduled to take delivery of the first load of structural steel for the construction of the new lift span at the American Bridge lay‐down yard on Monday, January 14, 2013.
  • Installation of new windows in the north and south tender houses located on the north and south ends of the existing bridge.
  • Continuation of plumbing, electrical & HVAC work in the north and south tender houses located on the north and south ends of the existing bridge.
  • Columbus Road Lift Bridge is NOT scheduled to be closed to vehicular traffic until June 2013.
